St John's Methodist
The English speaking St John’s congregation founded a worshipping community on the East side of the Waikato River well over 100 years ago. From a small group of dedicated people, the congregation grew and our first church was built in 1911. Unfortunately, that worship centre had to be replaced in 2016 because of more stringent Earthquake requirements.
The worshipping congregation today is a vibrant, welcoming group of people from many countries and backgrounds. All are united in their love of God our Creator and the fellowship of all who believe in the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that God’s Spirit is still at work in the Church today, that the best is yet to be and we share in and support the mission of the Methodist Church of New Zealand at home and in the world at large.
